The Voice of Change

CAYL calls in experienced and emerging leaders to come together to speak freely about what concerns them most.

Fellowship Programs

Our fellowships offer intensive, year-long learning experiences for promising policy leaders in early care and education.

Publications

Our research leads the way. CAYL regularly publishes our findings and recommendations in books, policy papers, and reports.

Webinars

Our webinars support dialogue between experienced and emerging leaders in early childhood education to address the most pressing and timely topics in the field.

Advocacy in Community

Through CAYL’s fellowships and online convenings, we share our adaptive challenges: urgent issues that require an innovative approach and a strong case for change. Then, together, we begin thinking about solutions that are timely, relevant, and immediately actionable.

Advocacy is a learned skill, and one that we believe is learned best in community. We recognize our mutual care for children and families, whether we work in schools, centers, or homes. Through CAYL’s network, we can confidently elevate our research and recommendations to the school, district, and state levels.

Being a part of the 2023 CAYL Fellowship was a phenomenal experience. I had the opportunity to learn and garner knowledge from colleagues who are experts in their fields of choice. The countless hours of dialogue within our small groups and the overall conversation among the fellows were all enriching, making our work more impactful.

This fellowship stretched my critical and analytical abilities, imploring me to look beyond how things seem and to employ a different perspective—moving from the floor to the balcony view.
