20 Years of Impact
The CAYL Institute’s intentional approach to changing early childhood education has engaged practitioners and decision-makers across the educational spectrum—and across the nation.
Education POLICY ROOTED IN PRACTICE
We are a growing community, united by the belief that advocating for early childhood education practitioners, students, and families is a matter of equity and justice.
Our early work brought the diverse needs of multiracial communities into conversations about education policy. We continue in that tradition today, bringing with us the powerful insight and commitment of thousands of established and emerging leaders.
Together we are bridging the gap between policy and practice to ensure high-quality early education and care for all families.

The CAYL Institute is a national treasure in the field of early childhood education. It is bold and audacious and dares to explore cutting-edge topics while challenging us to think more deeply, more broadly, and more futuristically.
Maurice Sykes
Executive Director, Early Childhood Leadership Institute
As someone who is passionate about early education, I am very invested in the recruitment, retention, and growth of early childhood educators. My participation in the CAYL Fellowship has helped me to expand my knowledge, to meet educators in other areas of the Commonwealth, and to learn how to engage in collaborative problem-solving.
