The Government Accountability Office (GAO) has released a report titled Overview of K-12 and Early Childhood Education Programs. The report is intended to brief legistlators about the federal expenditure on K-12 and early childhood education programs.

The Michigan Early Childhood Investment Corporation released a report titled, "Steps Forward," written by CAYL President Valora Washington. The reports discusses the need for better college-level training and higher salaries for Michigan students who want to enter the early childhood profession, and the barriers that prevent that from happening.

The Massachusetts Budget and Policy Center released a report titled "An Unstable Ladder: How the Fiscal Crisis is Threatening Education and Work Support Programs for Many Women." This report examines how these programs support the participation of women in the workforce, and how they have been affected by state budget cuts.

Today, the Boston Globe has printed two articles relative to education. The first, House swiftly OKs sweeping education measure, reports that the state House of Representatives passed an education bill that aims to overhaul the state’s worst schools and expand charter schools.
