2011-2012 CAYL Wean Principal's Scholars

The second cohort of CAYL Raymond John Wean Principal’s Scholars will kick off their year on September 9th with an all day orientation, led by CAYL’s President Valora Washington, PhD. The Wean Principals Scholars Project is a learning community for elementary school Principals in Ohio’s Mahoning and Trumbull counties to strengthen their individual and collective capacity to lead their schools and to influence policies that affect the education of all elementary school children. This year, Dr. Valora Washington and the Wean Scholars will work hard to tackle the challenges of three essential areas: transitions, documenting children’s work, and family engagement.

CAYL Bids Farewell to

Liana Mitman

Liana Mitman, The CAYL Institute's Operations Manager, has recently left CAYL to persue an exciting opportunity. Liana is now the Teen Program Director for the Jewish Community Centers (JCC) of Greater Boston. In this role she will be responsible for managing the JCC Diller Teen Fellows program, a national fellowship for teens in the United States and in Israel. Liana will run workshops and retreats related to leadership development, community service, and Israel. She will also be managing the JCC Youth Literacy Corps and JCC Maccabi Sports Games as well as working across business units and programs at the JCC, seeking out opportunities for teen leadership development and Jewish identity exploration. We wish Liana the best of luck! Please contact Hope Dixon in the interim with any questions.
